Sponsorship Disclosure Policy

Sponsorship Disclosure Policy

Version 1.0 · Effective 3 October 2026

Purpose

This policy explains how we show you that a work is sponsored, and what a sponsor can and cannot do, so you always know what you are watching.

1. What «برعاية» ("Presented by") means

1.1 «برعاية [name]» / "Presented by [name]" means that this organisation funded all or part of the work's production, or paid to appear in it. It may be a company, a brand, a government body or a non-profit.

1.2 A sponsored work is still a NovelLab Studio production and goes through the same reviews and human sign-offs.

2. Where the label appears

PlaceWhat you see
Series page and cardA «برعاية» badge with the sponsor's name and logo
Episode page and playerThe «برعاية» badge with the sponsor's name; some episodes also open with a short «برعاية [sponsor]» ident
End of the episodeAn end card with the sponsor's name and its call to action, where the sponsor provided one
"How this was made" cardThe sponsor's approval among the human sign-offs
Our social posts«إعلان» ("Ad") or «برعاية [sponsor]» in the caption, plus the platform's paid-partnership tool
Our celebrity partners' posts«إعلان» as required by the rules of GCAM (the General Commission for Audiovisual Media), plus the platform's paid-partnership tool

3. Editorial independence

3.1 A sponsor may:

  • pick a concept from those we propose,
  • approve the script, the storybook cut and the final version,
  • ask for changes about how its brand appears, about factual accuracy concerning itself, about brand fit, or about legal requirements.

3.2 A sponsor may not:

  • require false or misleading claims, or present advertising as news or independent opinion,
  • remove the «برعاية» label or the AI label,
  • change ratings, comments or poll results, or remove fair criticism,
  • receive viewers' personal data,
  • ask us to generate a real person's image or voice.

3.3 The studio has the final editorial say. We refuse any request that breaks our policies or the law, even if that ends the deal.

4. Products, places and calls to action

4.1 When a sponsor's product or venue appears in the story, that is part of the sponsorship and is covered by the label.

4.2 If an episode includes a call to action from the sponsor, such as a link or a QR code, it appears on the end card, clearly marked as the sponsor's.

4.3 When you visit a sponsor's site, its own privacy policy applies. We do not send it your data.

5. Government and public bodies

5.1 Works sponsored by a government body carry that body's name in the same way.

5.2 Awareness and cultural messages are labelled like any other sponsorship.

5.3 We do not accept sponsorship for political or electoral campaigns.

6. Kids works

  • In the Kids section, a sponsor of a kids work appears by name and logo only, with the «برعاية» label.
  • No calls to buy, no links, no QR codes, no characters selling products, and no lines urging a child to ask parents for something.

7. Polls in sponsored works

A sponsor may propose poll options. We count votes the same way for every work, and a sponsor cannot change the result. If we do not produce the winning option, we will say why (Terms §7).

8. Data

Sponsors receive aggregate numbers only: views, unique viewers, watch hours, completion rates, votes, clicks on their call to action, QR scans, and a summary of comment reactions with short quotes and no usernames. They never receive data that identifies you (Privacy Policy §5).

9. Celebrity partners

9.1 Some celebrities promote our works for a fee or a share of revenue.

9.2 They must:

  • label their posts «إعلان» ("Ad"),
  • follow Saudi advertising rules, including holding a valid «موثوق» (Mawthooq) licence,
  • use links that measure clicks, views and votes in aggregate without revealing who you are.

9.3 Versions that include a partner's filmed intro are shown as "via @[handle]", and the intro is real footage the partner recorded.

10. AI

A sponsored work carries the AI label like any other work (AI Transparency Statement).

11. Feedback and complaints

If you think a sponsored work is not clearly labelled, or that advertising was presented as independent content, use the "Report" button or write to support@novellab.ai. We review it within 72 hours.

12. Changes

We may update this policy. We will tell you about material changes 30 days in advance.
